As Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals are starting, the freshest thing on many hockey fans’ minds must be: Where have the Phoenix Coyotes been all these years? Right now the Coyotes are leading their series against the Nashville Predators. The Coyotes are up by 2 games, so the Predators are going to have to step it up in game 3 if they want a chance at the Cup. The two teams have been pretty even this season as they are back to back in the standings as the 3rd and 4th seeds.  Game 3 of this series is set for Wednesday night.

The other Western conference has the LA Kings leading the St. Louis Blues with one game. The Kings are the bottom seed, but they just defeated the top seed, Canucks, in the first round, so it is possible for them to knock down the powerful Blues in the second rounds. This series meets again for their second game tonight.

The Western Conference is having an interesting playoff run, as the two bottom seeded teams are now the ones who are on top of the semi-finals rounds. This series meets again for their second game tonight.

In the East, The Flyers are back on top again after a long break in between series, as they beat the New Jersey Devils yesterday afternoon.  The two teams are set to meet again in Philadelphia for game 2 tomorrow night. In the other semi-finals round, it is no surprise that first seeded New York Rangers are one game win above the Washington Capitals. These two teams will meet for game 2 tonight.

So far it’s looking like in the West, the bottom seeded teams are striking first, so it could be another comeback season. The eastern conference looks as predicted, and if the Flyers and the Rangers both come out on top, it will be quite a Conference Finals showdown.
