Kings Lead Series

Kings Lead Series

With Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals complete, The Kings have the early lead with the first win of 4-2.  Like the previous two series they have played, the Kings are poised to win with early goals scored and their quick goalie Jonathan Quick. (Notice the pun.) However, this is only game 1, and Phoenix was playing equally as well offensively last night. Although having the home team playoff shirts be white, made it look like they’re fans were rooting for the Kings,...

Conference Finals Begin

Last night the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals played their final battle against each other for the chance to get the Cup, in a Game 7 tiebreaker. The Capitals, who had a rough start earlier this season, were finally out done by the New York Rangers in a 2-1 victory for the Rangers. Since the game was the tiebreaker, the Rangers were not going to let their chance to win the cup slip from their fingers as Brad Richards  scored the first...

Kings Kill Another Top Dog

Kings Kill Another Top Dog

I think it’s safe to say “Let’s go Kings,” even if you don’t like the Kings, because frankly they came out of nowhere this season. The Kings had a rough season this year, but they managed to just make into the playoffs this post-season. Wherein they proved once again that it doesn’t matter how you get to the Stanley Cup, just that you get there. They took out number one seed Vancouver Canucks in four games, and then did it again with the number...

Hockey 101: Playoffs

So I didn’t write a hockey 101 blog last week, partly because I was on spring break, and partly because I’m not sure there is much more I can explain about hockey. So since the playoff season is going to start soon, I’m going to break down what happens during the playoffs. With less than two weeks left in the current season, it seems like prime time to do this. Who gets into the playoffs? In hockey there are two conferences: Eastern & Western,...

March 26, 2012
BallHyped Sports Network

More news of two teams with the possibility of clinching a spot in the playoffs comes out of the Western Conference with the Nashville Predators and the Detroit Red Wings. So far there are only 11 spots left in the playoffs, and in the West only the St. Louis Blues and the Canucks have clinched. The Nashville Predators will be given a spot tonight, even though they are not set to play tonight. Their achievement of a playoff gig is contingent upon if both the San Jose...
