The Battle of the Harbaughs? Count Me Out

The Battle of the Harbaughs? Count Me Out

Once again, we have made it to the end of January and 93% of the world’s football fans have shed a tear for their team for once again not making it to the big stage. To all my Jaguars fans….keep your chin up. It’s tough when your team doesn’t even make it to the playoffs. It’s even tougher when your team makes it to the playoffs and loses. It’s the worst when your team is favored to win it all and some crappy wild-card...

Locked out no more!

bettman122

Today is a good day to be a hockey fan. We have suffered for months at the hands of negotiations, but now all our patience to see the game we love so much has paid off. Early last Sunday it was announced that the league and the players had agreed to a tentative CBA, and the lockout was finally over. Well not quite. The Board of Governors had to approve the plan, which they did last Wednesday and the NHLPA also had to approve...

Rob Ryan, Really?!

Rob Ryan, Really?!

Rob Ryan is the latest in a long line of NFL firings, according to reports that he is out as Defensive Coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys. But the lingering question that remains is WHY?  What was the Cowboys front office — or more realistically, Jerry Jones — thinking?? Although the Cowboys did rank 24th out of 32 teams in overall defense this year, allowing 400 points on the season and over 5,000 yards, their defense was plagued with injuries from the beginning of the...

Peyton or Luck: Right Decision Made

Given the Colts and Broncos are both in the playoffs and both got double digit wins this season, will anyone go out on a limb and for surely that Irsay and the Colts made the right decision? Here is why you cannot, at this point. A lot can happen this weekend and throughout the remainder of the playoffs. The fact is that the Colts did exceed expectations and get in this year’s postseason. The uncertain thing is how far they will go. Almost nobody...

Manning Thrives in the Worst Division in the League

Manning Thrives in the Worst Division in the League

Peyton Manning was a genius to decide to go to the Denver Broncos for 2 reasons. Reason number one is that the Broncos proved themselves last year by taking a less than mediocre quarterback led team into the second round of the playoffs in a quarterback driven league. The second reason is that Peyton Manning knows that his odds of making it into the playoffs sky rocket when he joins one of the teams in the worst division in football. It is no secret...

Bye Bye ‘Boys: Redskins Run Away With NFC East Title

History was made Sunday night. Unfortunately, the Dallas Cowboys were on the losing end of it. Redskins’ rookie RB Alfred Morris rushed for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns, surpassing Clinton Portis as the Redskins’ single season rushing leader with 1,613 yards on the year.  Portis’ previous record was 1,516 yards in 2005. Robert Griffin III added another touchdown with his legs, and the Cowboys were sent packing. The Cowboys’ defense, decimated with injuries, simply couldn’t keep pace with the quick Redskins.  Not only could...

Week 17 Preview: Do or Die for Cowboys, Redskins in the NFC East

It all comes down to this. To steal a line from the NBA Playoffs, Win or Go Home. It’s now or never for Cowboys fans, who expect nothing less than at least a playoff appearance every year.  However, after another mediocre season plagued with injuries and full of blown chances,...

NHL Season still not happening

NHL Season still not happening

Don’t freak out fans, the cancellation of the NHL hockey season has not been officially announced but it’s honestly only a matter of time.  If you can sift through all the legalese in the NHLPA and NHL statements you’ll find that absolutely nothing has been happening. They continue to fight about money and now it may lead to a long drawn out legal battle. The NHLPA had the players vote this week on a disclaimer of interest which would allow them to dissolve the union. They voted yes...

RGIII Fined for Wearing Adidas Gear? Really?

RGIII Fined for Wearing Adidas Gear? Really?

After the game against the Ravens during week 14, RGIII came out to the post -game press conference dressed in an Adidas sweat suit. Nike is the official uniform supplier of the NFL this year and apparently that means that you are not allowed to show any sort of logo on your clothes besides the Nike swoosh. For this the NFL fined RGIII $10,000 freaking dollars! Since when is wearing what you want to wear a crime? I know it may date me a...
