Lakers Left Wondering What Could Have Been with Lin

Lakers Left Wondering What Could Have Been with Lin

It seems like every couple weeks, I see the Los Angeles Lakers go up against a team that embarrasses them at the point guard spot. Usually it’s the Boston Celtics and Rajon Rondo, or the Oklahoma City Thunder and Russell Westbrook. And every time I see Derek Fisher (0 for 7 against the Celtics on Thursday), Steve Blake and Co. get their ankles broke, I shake my head and think to myself, “Man, they could’ve had this guy.” Enter: Jeremy Lin. An undrafted free...

(VIDEO) Ray Allen Blows Dunk, Celtics Fall to Wizards … by 2

January 22, 2011

While the headlines will go to Washington Wizards guard John Wall for his big three down the stretch in Saturday’s 85-83 over the Boston Celtics, Ray Allen’s blown dunk was just as big a play. Allen blew a wide-open dunk with under 7 minutes to go in the fourth quarter, which received no criticism from the Celtics homer announcers (or the Boston media for that matter), a play that could have cost the Celtics a shot at forcing overtime at the Verizon Center in...

Tradition!!

August 7, 2010

So I’ve slipped on posting a bit as of late and here is why: I’m gonna be a Pop real soon. The wife is pregnant and due in a few weeks and much of my time has been dedicated to making my home baby safe. But something came up that had me quite disturbed. It went down like this: Ryantific: Hi Hon. That’s a awfully green shirt you are wearing to cover your tummy that holds my son, a future Laker fanatic. Wife: Huh?...

The 4 Hs make a difference in sports (and I’m not talking HGH for once)

If you’re an avid follower of the Bias, or have had the unfortunate luck of knowing me for an extended period of time, you’ve no doubt heard me rant and rave about everything from HGH to the horrendous officiating in the NBA. But if there’s one thing I bang on more than LeBron James and Joe Crawford, it’s ESPN and the bandwagon media, and how quick they are to judge and dismiss teams after one game, one quarter, even one play at times. But...

Somebody get a hand in Ray-Ray’s face, or Swank, Stallone, Artest gonna knock you out

Somebody get a hand in Ray-Ray’s face, or Swank, Stallone, Artest gonna knock you out

Initial thoughts from tonight’s 103-94 victory by the Boston Celtics over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 of the NBA Finals: Who was the best fighter in the gym tonight? A. Hillary Swank. B. Sylvester Stallone. C. Ron Artest. Who’s guarding Ray Allen? Lakers are up 2-0 if someone gets a hand in his face. On second thought, you could have put Michael Jordan on Allen and it probably still wouldn’t have mattered. Props to the Lakers fans for actually cheering tonight. Remember...

Lakers get physical, defensive, best of Celtics in Game 1 (despite Joe Crawford being on the floor)

Lakers get physical, defensive, best of Celtics in Game 1 (despite Joe Crawford being on the floor)

Initial thoughts from the Los Angeles Lakers’ 102-89 victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday: The only bad news out of L.A. tonight: UCLA’s John Wooden, 99, in “grave” condition. This is exactly why the Lakers brought in Ron Artest. Getting physical with 2008 NBA Finals MVP Paul Pierce from the opening tip. Pierce had 24 points, but 11 of those came in the fourth when the game was out of hand. Ron-Ron also hit 3 of...

ESPN: Kevin Durant Traded to Boston Celtics, Lakers fans rejoice [video]

April 23, 2010

Have no fear Los Angeles Lakers fans: Kevin Durant has been traded to the Boston Celtics. Don’t believe me? ESPN just reported it. Lead story on SportsCenter tonight! Apparently, you can make trades during the postseason now. Additional breaking news, from EastSidePN: Durant was reportedly suspended for the previous game, too. Does that mean the Oklahoma Thunder must forfeit that last victory over the Lakers? Guess Los Angeles should roll through the rest of the series – unless Kobe is traded to the Bulls...
