Locked out no more!
Today is a good day to be a hockey fan. We have suffered for months at the hands of negotiations, but now all our…
Those hockey fans in the West know by now that the Western Conference Series have all determined their winners, and match ups. The Kings defeated The Canucks 4-1, the Blues won 4-1 over the Sharks, The Coyotes managed to destroy the Blackhawks 4-2, and the Predators took out the Red Wings 4-1. It has recently been announced by the league that the Coyotes will take on the Predators and the Blues with take on the Kings for the Round 2 Western Conference Semi-finals round.
While the Western teams are all wrapped up, they have to patiently wait out for round 2, much like the Philadelphia Flyers, who are currently the only Eastern Conference team to advance to the second round. This is because the other three series are all 3-3 and are going into one last battle for the chance at the Cup in Game 7.
Game 7s are not rare, but they are not always necesary in the playoffs, as is evident through the Western Conference series, none of which had to go into a game 7. Game 7 is the tie breaker game, that finally rewards the better team in a conference that gets just one more win over their rivals. These games are exciting, intense and nerve wracking for fans, but we enjoy them more than anything.
The Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins Game 7 will be tonight at 7:30 at Boston. The game dates for the other two series are yet to be determined, but The Panthers will host the Devils in the final showdown and the Rangers are planning on hosting the Senators for the next game that they play.
More information will be posted later once the games time and dates have been set.
